Vespera · Ember Tears
Vespera turns her head, and her gaze passes straight through you without ever settling. From her golden eye runs a slow ember, like a tear that caught fire, the trail sliding down until it marks her cheek with a cross. On her chest the orange still flows, alive, while the tips of her white mane catch flame. A few stars keep watch around her. She isn't really crying: she's burning, softly, and she knows it.
A specimen of the Vespera species: the bats of the twilight embers, nocturnal creatures with ink-dark fur and an end-of-the-world glow.
