Limène · Kneeling Vigil

Kneeling in a pool of ink, head tilted back and eyes closed, she lets a single tear trace down her black mask. Her raised ears still keep watch, but her curled tail and the pale star on her chest speak of a rest she never chose. Above her, the ink keeps falling, drop after drop, like a time that no longer stops.

Specimen of the Limène species: jackals who guard the thresholds, watching over a doorway no one comes through anymore, mourning those they can no longer guide.
