Body rippling in one long curve, head tipped back to receive the ink falling straight onto her face, she lets one arm drop toward the ground in a suspended tear. Her tail coils far behind her, and her feet barely graze a pool rippling in concentric circles beneath her.

Specimen of the Sourdine species: koi who glide soundlessly beneath water that no longer reflects anything, reaching a hand toward a light they never reach.
